I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to state, for the information of Lord Granville, with reference to your letter of the 24th ult., that they will approve of the payment to him, out of Colonial funds, the sum of £849, being part of the value of certain furniture provided by Messrs. Morrison, for the Government House at Hong Kong, which it is considered desirable to retain for the convenience of future Governors, as recommended by the Secretary of State.
